RÉPARATION ENFILAGE ENFILAGE COLLIER PERLES PARIS

STEPS IN REPAIRING A PEARL NECKLACE

A pearl necklace should be repaired every two years or every year, depending on its use. A pearl necklace strung with silk thread can often break, fray or become loose. A good repair will preserve the beauty and durability of your necklaces.

1
PEARL CONDITION

Together, we'll check the condition of your necklace and each individual pearl.

2
COUNTING PEARLS

We'll count together the number of pearls the necklace had before repair, as well as the size of the pearls and the width of the necklace (because it may vary after restoration).

3
PHOTO OF THE PIECE

I take a photo of the piece to leave a record of the size and position of the pearls in the necklace.

4
RESTORATION AND THREADING

I start by cleaning the beads, then choose the silk thread best suited to the hole in the bead, and then proceed to thread them with or without knots. Finally, I carefully attach the clasps.
